Investment Philosophy

Our rationale and recommendations are articulated in each

customer’s customized Investment Policy Statement (IPS).

The IPS provides us a roadmap to assist in keeping

the client’s objectives on course and in the right

direction. We strive to help clients get closer to their

goal(s).

Yaish Financial primarily turns to both Dimensional Fund Advisors

and Vanguard fund families for low-cost, institutional grade,

passively managed investment options. We believe in building

portfolios that diversify within and across asset classes to lower the

risk of the portfolio, while at the same time targeting similar

expected returns. In fact, sometimes, adding a higher risk

component to the portfolio that has low correlating asset class may

actually reduce volatility and  increase expected returns. “The

level of risk associated with a particular investment or asset class

typically correlates with the level of return the investment might

achieve.”*

 Based on a client’s risk tolerance questionnaire, we begin a

conversation to understand and define the right amount

of risk for your portfolio.

 We focus on capturing market returns using asset

allocation and diversification within and across asset

classes (where the greatest return variation action is)!

 Strong focus on cost control and tax- management (where

many investors cause harm to strong potential returns).

 As per the client’s IPS, red flags will trigger a periodic

rebalancing of their portfolio.

 Gift of S.W.A.N.- Sleep Well At Night. A refreshing

opportunity for freedom from responding to every market

fluctuation in order to better respond to your family and life.

*Risk and Reward. The level of risk associated with a particular investment or asset class typically correlates with the level of return the investment might achieve. The rationale behind this relationship is that investors willing to take on risky investments and potentially lose money should be rewarded for their risk. In the context of investing, reward is the possibility of higher returns. Historically, stocks have enjoyed the most robust average annual returns over the long term (just over 10 percent per year), followed by corporate bonds (around 6 percent annually), Treasury bonds (5.5 percent per year) and cash/cash equivalents such as short-term Treasury bills (3.5 percent per year). The tradeoff is that with this higher return comes greater risk: as an asset class, stocks are riskier than corporate bonds, and corporate bonds are riskier than Treasury bonds or bank savings products. – See more at: http://www.finra.org/investors/reality-investment-risk#sthash.aTgiqiOs.dpuf 3/17/2016 4:24PM EST

Holistic Service

About          Approach          Investment Philosophy          Strategy

Strategy

Do's

At Yaish Financial we adhere to a Passive investing strategy based on *research by Nobel Laureate Eugene Fama and world renowned finance, economic and academic minds such as Kenneth French. In addition, it is important to note that Nobel Laureates Merton Miller, Myron Scholes and Robert Merton have contributed academic *research and guidance to the fabric of the investment vehicles we use.

In part, the research shows that at times, even though one will observe volatility in the markets, the world financial markets perform well over long periods of time.

Aiming to be consistent with our investment philosophy, we’d prefer our clients target a minimum of a 5-7 year time horizon which affords us the ability to capture the returns that the markets provide, and all in a low-cost and tax-efficient manner.

*Please note: Kenneth French and Nobel Laureates Eugene Fama, Merton Miller, Myron Scholes and Robert Merton are not affiliated with Yaish Financial. Yaish Financial benefits from their academic research and investment strategies via our strategic alliance with Dimensional Fund Advisors

Don'ts

Slow, steady and disciplined is one of the basic mottos of our investing, therefore, we don’t like to pay too much attention to headlines or any of the emotionally         charged financial radio shows or news programs.

Within this same vein of impulse driven financial literacy hibernation, we don’t promote gambling in the market and recommend our clients resist the pressure of a hot stock tip, rumors of a takeover, IPOs, financial headlines, trying to guess the markets’ direction or the active-manager/flavor of the month.

The undisciplined investor may experience a series of disappointments when he/she tries to predict or time the market; which leads to buying and selling emotionally. This type of “investing” can have a negative impact when the client buys high and sells low. As client educators, we have a hard enough time guiding our clients to stay on course when they express the urge to veer off their personalized goal-oriented plan due to dramatic events. These include market activity or worldwide events such as a decline in the client’s portfolio or headlines that speak of doom and gloom ahead; interest rate changes, a war, overvalued sector heading for a bubble… (In fact, when there is drop in the “market”, for the right client this may actually be the best time to buy more and benefit from the bargain prices).

After taking our Risk Tolerance Questionnaire, we build a portfolio tailored to match an investor’s ability, willingness and need to take risk. We want our clients to keep as much of what they earn. Therefore, we are sensitive to controlling overall costs and maximizing tax efficiency.
